How we check our numbers
Every fee, bond and exam figure comes from the state's own website or statute wherever the state publishes it. Each figure on a state page links to its source. Last full check: 2026-09-29.
What the tags mean
- state The figure is set by the state and taken from its own page or law.
- est A typical market price for something the state doesn't set, such as a bond premium, a stamp or a course from a private provider. Your price may differ.
How often we recheck
The first week of every month we reread each launch state's notary pages and log any change on the rule changes page with its date.
What the calculator assumes
Mileage at $0.70 a mile, the 2025 IRS business rate. Printing at about $8 per loan package. Half of general notarizations as mobile visits. All inputs can be changed. Results are before self-employment tax and are estimates, not promises.
